Today marks the year after a devastating Maguindanao Massacre. Until now, the case is unresolved because the suspects were powerful and almost all the witnesses were gone. They were also good friends with the past administration, but now that we have the new government, this is the time to make them pay for what they have done. The hearing should be publicly seen so that everyone may know that the judgment is fair. They have done a very heinous and animalistic crime, they should be punished with death penalty. Let us whisper a little prayer for the victims. May True justice prevail. Till my next post! See yah! This blog contains all about everything that I wish to share and discuss. whether it is about music, drawings, personal life, games, tutorials, recommended sites, etc. Leave comments and subscribe to my feed.

Election 2010
I exercised my right to vote today. I woke up late this morning and decided to vote during lunch time, which I did the last time. But my uncle said I should vote earlier because of the merging of precincts that's why I went there around 10:30. I have already my precinct number and I immediately went to look at what room it should be. I looked at the list of the names and found my name. I then went to the election officer on the door to ask what to do. She gave me a piece of paper that I would have to fill up a few details including my precinct number and my number on the master list and then I would have to fall in line. I did what she said I listed up the paper and then I looked for the line for that precinct number. OMG! I walked and walked to look for the line and it was so long. I thought I saw the end of the line and waited for a few mins. when I realized that it was not the end of the line. The people who are distant to me said it was ok but I never meant to do it lol. It was like everyone wanted to be on the top of the line and many are very angry because of the long lines.
After 4 hours of waiting with no lunch I finally casted my vote! It was the first time that the Philippines had an automated election that is why it is like this but I believe that on the next election it would be better.
I voted for Gordon for president because I believe he has the capability of running the country and Binay for my vice President because he also has shown a lot of work in his territory. For other positions I just picked who I recognized and think that they have done something from the past. I just hope that all will be well and just and whoever wins will give good governance in our suffering country. :)

El Niño in the Philippines
It's been months since it rained here in our country. It is said to be caused by the El Niño phenomenon. According to thefreedictionary El Niño is A warming of the surface water of the eastern and central Pacific Ocean, occurring every 4 to 12 years and causing unusual global weather patterns. An El Niño is said to occur when the trade winds that usually push warm surface water westward weaken, allowing the warm water to pool as far eastward as the western coast of South America. When this happens, the typical pattern of coastal upwelling that carries nutrients from the cold depths to the ocean surface is disrupted, and fish and plankton die off in large numbers. El Niño warming is associated with the atmospheric phenomenon known as the southern oscillation, and their combined effect brings heavy rain to western South American and drought to eastern Australia and Indonesia. El Niño also affects the weather in the United States, but not as predictably. Compare La Nina.
The effects that we are seeing because of this phenomenon are the drought that the farmers are experiencing. Most of the crops are drying because of the lack of irrigation. There are also cases of heat stroke in different parts of the country. Dams are their lowest critical levels and are forced to shorten their productivity times. Last week the country experienced 1 to 2 hours rotational brownouts.
Let us all pray that we may not experience this for a longer time and that the government may find a way to help us solve this problem.

Chile Earthquake
Another devastating disaster happened Saturday 3:34 AM (1:34 a.m. ET) Chile had 8.8 magnitude earthquake. According to CNN it was 5th of the most powerful earthquake that happened since 1900 and 700 - 800 times stronger than the Haiti quake. As of today more than 300 people died, more than 1 million buildings were damaged, and had more than 80 aftershocks happened. Chile is said to be prepared for these kinds of disaster because they are a developed country and has a good government. U.S. President Barack Obama said they will help Chile.
I searched for pictures on CNN and got these:

Since it happened, there are tsunami warnings over other countries such as Indonesia, Japan, Hawaii and also some parts in the Philippines. Let us all pray that this would not happen so it might not affect other countries as well.

Maguindanao Massacre
Sorry if I haven't posted and dropped EC in quite a while. I've been very busy with making chocolate lollipops. :) I'll post some pictures and info about it in a few days. For now I'd like to bring back my circulation in blog hopping especially with entrecard.
I was planning to post about the issues that are happening nowadays in the Philippines but I was so late to tell it all. But I was shocked and truly devastated with the news of Maguindanao Massacre. Lots of innocent people were brutally killed and buried to death with their vehicles in the ground, they also say that some women are raped before they got killed. It was all because of political conflicts between 2 political families that lead to these evil doings. Now that many witnesses are confessing and some who participated in this killing are telling the truth maybe because they are bothered by their conscience. I wish and pray that true justice may prevail and the true mastermind should be put to bars or have a punishment of death penalty. Because this is the worst thing that a normal person could do. I believe that the people who did this are influenced with drugs. I am in one with the victim's families that are hoping for JUSTICE.

CNN Hero of the Year
I've posted earlier that a fellow filipino was nominated in the CNN hero of the year. Very good news for us Filipinos because Efren Penaflorinda won! He said that 90% of the prize will be donated to their group and 10% would go to church. When I heard this, I was even more touched because none of these would go to himself, he is always thinking of others. A truly hero at heart. Here is the video of the awarding ceremony. From the CNN site:
Congratulations Kuya Ef! :)

Congrats Pacquiao! Proud to be Pinoy!
Another boxing history has happened today when two of famous boxers of today, Miguel Cotto and Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao had a great fight.
I happened to witness it much as I wanted to watch it through online streaming, I watched a couple of it live until round 6, but then had problems with my internet connection so I had to see the news from my friends on plurk (lolz)
Pacman knocked Cotto twice (round 3 and round 4) and manages to give strong punches. Pretty good game to watch because Cotto also thrown some good punches but then our hero had a lot of power over the fight.
The fight ended on round 12 when the referee stopped the fight. Thus another victory for "Pacman" which got him 7 different titles for boxing.
Here's some highlights of the fight:

CNN Heroes
I watched Umagang Kay Ganda this morning and I've seen their segment about CNN Heroes. They said that one of our fellow Filipino is nominated in the top 10, so I immediately voted for him. His name is Efren Penaflorinda. He has this passion for teaching the kids who are not so lucky to have a good education. He is roaming around the depressed areas with a pushcart or "Kariton" classroom.
Together with his team of volunteers, they teach basic reading and writing to those children who are living in the streets. Their pushcart contains books, writing materials, tables and chairs. The group also has a hygienic clinic where children can take a bath and learn how to brush their teeth. For more of his full story. You can read this article straight from CNN's site: Efren Penaflorida's Story
If you want to vote: here's the site - CNN Heroes
