My Comeback

I haven't post anything lately, because of many activities that happened.

I happened to be one of the candidates for Mr. and Ms. Holy Family in our Parish. We had our practices for the  ramp and dance in the Coronation night for a couple of days. The coronation night happened last Friday December 26, 2009. It went pretty well, but there are a few mistakes that happened because of nervousness but all in all it was fun and great. We received our sashes and plaque of appreciation. We are 15 candidates, I was Ms. Justice, in 6th place :). I was the oldest one among them LOL. They were very friendly and had good times with them.

Then the day after that, we had procession. At first we were only few who were there. The other candidates who were late just followed us during the event. It lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. Then had a Eucharistic Mass which in the end, we offered flowers to the Holy Family statue.

Then last Sunday, we went to pasig to visit my Lolo, who will be celebrating his 81st birthday yesterday Dec. 28. He is not looking very well because of his illness (still unknown condition) but will have some tests by next week. He is unable to walk and feels numbness on both his legs. My Uncle and Tita prepared lots of food for the visitors, most of our relatives came, although I can't remember all of them because our last family reunion (in my father's side) were way back 90's.

Then yesterday we went to the airport to accompany my sister, brother-in-law and niece because they will go to Bacolod for 12 days. After that, my cousin and I went to St. Francis Square and had shopping. I bought 2 blouses, a dress, a wallet, shoes and a watch.

That's it for now... I'll be active again in the blog world. Till my next blog :D

Merry Christmas!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and joyous Christmas! Let's not just forget what christmas is all about. It's not just giving gifts and having lots of food but by remembering Christ's birth and thanking God for all the wonderful blessings he has done for us.

Send big files easier

I'd like to share something I just found a new site yesterday. I was looking for a site to send big files I was informed by my sister that there is a site called yousendit but then I forgot what it is (LOL) so I searched the google and I found sendthisfile which is very good than the other. The free account is pretty good and fast eventhough there are some limitations. Like slower than the paid account, it'll expire in 3 days and the file can be downloaded 3 times. However, I sent a couple of files, the largest is 46 MB and it went great. My sister received and downloaded it fast. You can also receive files because it has filebox.  Sending files is so easy you'll  just enter the recipient's email address then select the file and then click send. If you are always sending big files, then you should avail their membership or what they call paid account through this link

Maguindanao Massacre

Sorry if I haven't posted and dropped EC in quite a while. I've been very busy with making chocolate lollipops. :) I'll post some pictures and info about it in a few days. For now I'd like to bring back my circulation in blog hopping especially with entrecard.

I was planning to post about the issues that are happening nowadays in the Philippines but I was so late to tell it all. But I was shocked and truly devastated with the news of Maguindanao Massacre. Lots of innocent people were brutally killed and buried to death with their vehicles in the ground, they also say that some women are raped before they got killed. It was all because of political conflicts between 2 political families that lead to these evil doings. Now that many witnesses are confessing and some who participated in this killing are telling the truth maybe because they are bothered by their conscience. I wish and pray that true justice may prevail and the true mastermind should be put to bars or have a punishment of death penalty. Because this is the worst thing that a normal person could do. I believe that the people who did this are influenced with drugs. I am in one with the victim's families that are hoping for JUSTICE.

CNN Hero of the Year

I've posted earlier that a fellow filipino was nominated in the CNN hero of the year. Very good news for us Filipinos because Efren Penaflorinda won! He said that 90% of the prize will be donated to their group and 10% would go to church. When I heard this, I was even more touched because none of these would go to himself, he is always thinking of others. A truly hero at heart. Here is the video of the awarding ceremony. From the CNN site:

Congratulations Kuya Ef! :)

Works of Art by RiA

I have a new blog called Works of Art by RiA this blog is solely for my "piece of arts" collection. I'll share my own drawings, layout designs, backgrounds and all stuffs pertaining to arts.

I designed the header and background myself and right now I'm staring to post my old drawings. I'll soon post my newest drawings and newly sketches of persons which is very hard for me because I'm not really good at this. haha.

I'm also planning on creating background themes for blogger. I would also love to hear other people's comments on my work and can grant simple request.

Congrats Pacquiao! Proud to be Pinoy!

Another boxing history has happened today when two of famous boxers of today, Miguel Cotto and Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao had a great fight.

I happened to witness it much as I wanted to watch it through online streaming, I watched a couple of it live until round 6, but then had problems with my internet connection so I had to see the news from my friends on plurk (lolz)

Pacman knocked Cotto twice (round 3 and round 4) and manages to give strong punches. Pretty good game to watch because Cotto also thrown some good punches but then our hero had a lot of power over the fight.

The fight ended on round 12 when the referee stopped the fight. Thus another victory for "Pacman" which got him 7 different titles for boxing.

Here's some highlights of the fight:

CNN Heroes

I watched Umagang Kay Ganda this morning and I've seen their segment about CNN Heroes. They said that one of our fellow Filipino is nominated in the top 10, so I immediately voted for him.  His name is  Efren Penaflorinda. He has this passion for teaching the kids who are not so lucky to have a good education. He is roaming around the depressed areas with a pushcart or "Kariton" classroom.

Together with his team of volunteers, they teach basic reading and writing to those children who are living in the streets. Their pushcart contains books, writing materials, tables and chairs. The group also has a hygienic clinic where children can take a bath and learn how to brush their teeth. For more of his full story. You can read this article straight from CNN's site: Efren Penaflorida's Story

If you want to vote: here's the site - CNN Heroes

Thanks to all those who are always active in dropping. Although I can't promise to drop everyday. But I'm really pushing myself to drop everyday. Again, thanks! I'll post the top droppers again by the end of the month. :)

My Mom

It's been 6 years since my Mom passed away because of the dreadful cervical cancer. I really missed her, she is my bestfriend , best Mom for me and my sister and best wife for my Father. Now that the all souls day is coming again, I remembered her again. We haven't visited yet her grave, we should have visited yesterday but it rained in the morning and then in the afternoon. Today, there are so many people there and decided not to go because we have my niece with us. My uncle and some of my cousins went there. Probably we'll visit sometime this week or the next week.

It was 29 years since she gave birth to my sister, and 26 ago when I was born, At first, she still worked in the office but when I came in the world, she decided to take care and be a full time Mom for us two. She is very kind, generous and patient. She is very soft spoken, that even if she is angry, you wouldn't know it. Because Dad is working abroad (Doha, Qatar) she is the one who took care of us. When we went to school, she always has time to be there when parents are needed. She would come to events, programs and our graduation. During our elementary days, we have our school service. During our college days, she would come with us and teach us how to commute. We have a van, but then my Dad is the only one who knows how to drive at that time. When summer comes, Dad comes for a 1 month vacation. That's the time that we got to be as one family again. But then as much as we wanted to be all together for the rest of our lives, we couldn't, our lives are just a gift from God, and he has plans. I know that our Mom is already happy with Him. She sacrificed many things for us and it's time that we give her the happiness she deserves. I love you Mom!

Cafe World

One of the newest game in facebook. Also my favorite ;). It is kind of like Restaurant City wherein you manage your crew for your cafe. But here, you cook the menu yourself! You are a chef and you buy the available dishes on the cookbook. You then cook it for a couple of times for preparation and then wait for it's cooking time. Different dishes has different cooking time, cost and serving. You also hire your waiters, for the first time, you can only have 1 waiter and a few dishes, but as you level up, you can have additional employees, stoves, counters and even cash. You can send gifts to your friends once a day. They can use it when they feel like giving it to their customers, the more customers they have, the larger the profit. Your goal for this game, to earn money, cafe points (experience points) and have a high buzz rating. You can gain cafe points and money by cooking different dishes, the more expensive the menu, the more points it has. Also, the more food you have on the counters you serve, the more money you will get. One tip for the buzz rating, if ever you are still waiting for your food to be cooked, you can take out your door first so that the buzz rating won't go down. Once the menu is cooked, you can bring back the door for the customers to come out.

What I like about this is that you design your own cafe and expand it when you have enough money. I'd like to show you my own cafe:

Here's the screenshot of my Cafe now (updated as of 10-27-09)

I still have a lot of this to update. Probably my stove or add more decors on the wall. my floor and wallpaper are quite expensive, but it's worth it. I'm now on level 24 and still hoping for more level ups.
